The first Multiplier Event of the European Erasmus+ OpenIN project (Open Source Applications for Industrial Automation), coordinated by Politeknika Txorieri, took place in Derio in October. 50 Participants from 34 different colleges in the Basque Country were informed about the project outcomes so far.
Anabel Menica presented the OpenIN project by introducing the aims, the partners, the expected impact of the project and the pilot products. She also showed the participants the web page of the project where the Training Courses will be available for free downloading.
There was a short break when the participants had the opportunity to network and share their impressions about the event so far. After the break Xabier Ugarte presented the pilot training Course, the structure of it and the methodology to be applied. The OpenIn pilot training course is made up of 14 units separated into 4 Topics:
- Topic A: Introduction
- Topic B: Sensors.
- Topic C: Communications.
- Topic D: Actuators.
During the traning, students will be asked to answer a complex question or solve a complex problem. This problem solving includes researching the question, synthesizing the information, working with others, and presenting the work.
Xabier also showed the attendees the project Moodle for the pilot products. He presented some practical examples of the application of Arduino based on the units of OpenIN and encouraged the participants to join a pilot training for Teachers that will be taking place at Politeknika Txorierri in November.
